If I had children, what I would want to encourage is their imaginations. I think that teaching children to believe that certain old, stale myths [---][/---] the baby Jesus was born in a manger in a stable on 25 December; Santa Claus/Father Christmas brings gifts to good little children on Christmas...

I have two children (5 and 3). I have not ever ruled out smacking, but up until now have always found another way to deal with it. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
