Do you believe in ghosts?

What's your opinion on these?

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Not impressed.

The first one is supposed to be one of the best, yet a brief inspection reveals what looks like a projection beam above the "ghost" (see my animation). My guess is that a high window at the top of the stairs has a hole or gap in its curtain, that allows a beam of sunlight to project through. The "ghost" is probably just this light hitting a patch of dust or smoke. If even one photo had been taken in the house that day, prior to this one, there would have been plenty of smoke from the flashpan used to unwittingly create such a spectre (or even if the photographers were simply smoking).

In order to identify the beam I made the image negative, to help visualise what I thought I saw in the original, then I added lines following the outer edges of the beam. Unsurprisingly to me, these lines match the outline of the "ghost" pretty well.

I'm just amazed that photos or videos of ghosts, UFOs and fairies haven't become more common since the advent of phone cameras. It appears that there are fewer UFO sightings in total and I find it fascinating that so many of the photos of "ghosts" that have withstood scrutiny (although the quality of that scrutiny is questionable) were taken using long exposures or have been on film, which is renowned for being prone to degradation due to bacterial action.

Since the number of photographs being taken of everything else on the planet has dramatically increased since digital cameras arrived on the scene, I am astounded that more spooks and aliens haven't been snapped and spread across the world using the mighty internet. Or maybe ghosts and UFOs can't be captured on digital? It must be magic.

It's a problem with phone cameras: they emit high EMF fields and everyone knows they interfere with the natural EMF radiated by ghosts...

haha love it!

I find ghost pictures interesting - if only for working out how they were done. I used to believe in ghosts and thought that Most Haunted was 100% legit and honest (I also used to believe in God too). I have had certain experiences that for a split second scared the life out of me. If I was a less rational person I would have declared then and there that ghosts exist.

Am I right in thinking that far more people claim to believe in ghosts than God in the UK? I heard that somewhere but I can't remember any details about the study.

If the god-believers are trinitarians, then belief in ghosts is part of the deal!

Its strange that the Catholic church seems to have no unified stance on that! Actually, I guess maybe it isn't strange given the completely contradictory nature of the church!

I don't believe in ghosts, and I don't believe in life after death. But if there *is* some sort of existence after we die, I hope it's a more interesting one than haunting creaky old houses and making regular appearances to professional psychics.

I quite like the idea of coming back and scareing the shit out of people

I did believe in ghost, supernatural and superstition until one day I read something about supernatural at British Humanist Association, it liberated my mind.
