A belated Happy New Year to all.
-30 C (I have degree sign on new keyboard...back to "help" to learn how to get at red characters) today.
Mighty chilly, Sel!
So cold it seems to have frozen your degrees symbol right off the post! Or this little old text editing system does not recognise it.
Hope you are well and hearty and wrapped up warm.

-30°
Got it. Gave up on red key...cannot find access to it. I looked it up when I first bought this computer but can no longer find the answer! AARGH! Perhaps I selected a combination that de-activated those options.
Dave - I am warm and healthy but a bit lost. This too shall pass.

Dave, I think N America uses Fahrenheit, it's very confusing...
Delighted you're warm and healthy, Sel. I think we probably all understand the
bit lost
feeling and imho
This too shall pass
is the best response

Fia: Canada uses Celsius and the US uses Fahrenheit. It has been -30°C = -32°F for the last couple of days. The two scales converge at -40°; so the minus 30's get closer together. No matter how you look at it, this is bloody cold.
Last Thursday we were wandering about in light sweaters at 15°C = 59°F! Such a drastic change over two or three days is hard on this old body.

Thanks for that Sel, I hadn't considered the scales converged at any point. Reckon -30 on any scale is fucking freezing
The swinging of temperatures that many of us seem to have experienced this winter, is, I agree, hard to bear on bones and body. We'll feel better when we can enjoy longer days and feel the warmth of the sun... the promise is there already...

Sel, think of it as being about 239oC above "absolute zero" - does that make it feel warmer?

Trouble is I have the impression that the dynamics of counselling, of any kind, are so variable and the results depend very much on the combination of personalities involved. Especially their honest intentions - no point in going in for counselling with a mind that is already made up irrevocably. There has to be common ground, a willingness to concede, on both sides. If matters are so sour as to preclude those then there is little chance of any real therapy coming out of the exercise.

I would so love to spend an hour or so clicking through the new posts and adding my occasional tuppence worth. But having spent my time off one job at a conference with another and doing a course in my next days off this cannot be. Silly o'clock tomorrow again

Have got into the habit of doing the daft stuff and avoiding the serious threads. Who cares?
