Latest post of the previous page:

I am so sorry, Sel, that such a good year for you ended so badly; life is so unpredictable. I probably have never been as cold as you were/are, but I was very depressed in 1969, taking several overdoses.

Do you intend to visit the Theologica site if you have not already done so?

My favourite year will be the next one. I hope.

Do you feel as though your dog/cat 'understands' you?
And do you believe it really does?

Our cat understands me to some extent in a basic way. Not my language ,of course, but my jestures and stance etc. She understands the opening of a cupboard door - to some extent, but is often quite wrong or else every time a cupboard door opened she would be getting food.

My question is regarding pets but might apply to offspring as well. Do you always reward good behaviour - or just sometimes. Or never.

With dogs, (when I kept them), I would reward 'good' behaviour consistently. With children, I am more likely to encourage intelligent or curious behaviour, unless it's dangerous.

Looking back over a cock-up of a life time, I suppose I hardly ever rewarded good behaviour. Anyway my question was a bit stupid so here is another one.

What would you really like to do tomorrow, but know you cannot or will not.

Do you enjoy reading "literature" or do you regard it as something one ought to read, but read siomething else instead....?

Whatever "reading for pleasure" involves in my estimation I enjoy. Can't seem to concentrate on those "things I ought to/should read" these days! I well remember the pretentiousness of the expectation that one should Homer's epics and all that other stuff. Getting over-involved with reading the Hippie age psychology cannon (R. D. Laing et al) was the beginning of my cure for that. Poring through vast tomes for college and uni was the final cap on it.

What is your favourite type of cuisine? [Bound to have come up before but I missed it if so]

that prepared by someone else

With reference to the previous question, do you, if you do read solid/oldish literature, often find it easier to follow than science fiction or much other modern fiction? (this is a rhetorical question indicating that I do find it so)

I appreciate the language used in older books - enjoy reading Shakespeare occasionally - but I enjoy good writing in the mode of any period.

I do enjoy sci-fi (if well written) for its inventiveness - I would far rather read "forwards in time" than backwards - tomorrow is always something to look forward too for me (providing it does not contain such things as the dentist, lung-function tests, treadmill tests etc.!!!!!)

Excellent sharing of your opinion, Dave. Now then, where is the next question?

Oh. Brain took a holiday again!

Can I leave this one for later? I am having trouble thinking about such things at the moment.

The questions seem to have stopped..... Not good!

If you were Chancellor, what tax would you increase, reduce, scrap or introduce?

Introduce: 100% tax on all non evidence based "health" therapies.

Increase: top band of tax back to 50%

Scrap: the tax change Brown made when he scrapped the 10p rate for the lowest paid (can I scrap a scrap?)

Reduce: the tax I perpsonally have to pay. That's only fair, now, isn't it?

Same question....

I would put a very heavy levy on pub car-parking spaces. WTF are they supposed to be for?

The designated driver?

Thundril, you've done it again: not asked a new question!

C'mon, man! An interview question, please!

I did ask a question, Nick:
WTF are they supposed to be for?
And you answered it:
The designated driver.
So it's your turn to ask another, I think :laughter:

If you two are arguing and not leaving me a question, shall I ask myself one?
Yes, jaywhat, why not give it a go.
Why not indeed?
OK
Did you go out last night - and if so, where did you go?

Well. jaywhat, I drove to Hebden Bridge and took part in a writing group in the library.

To bed. And slept.

We can't all have such exciting lives as you, jaywhat.

Most of them. I find it hard to single any out but the one is the Julia something who prevents me from watching Countryfile. She really is appalling.
