triple alphabet game

Well, folks, as it's a lazy Sunday - for me anyway :) - I thought we could try exercising the grey matter a tad by trying a triple alphabet game. It might not work, but it might be fun... If the poster after me does CDE in only 13 posts we should reach YZA, when that poster can choose the next subject.

Subject is 'happy', hopefully broad enough...

I didn't know there was another meaning for "quail" in the UK until I looked it up. Oh, you Brits with your "birds"! :laughter:

Actually, I don't think I have ever chosen a new subject. Would COLOUR be OK? So one of the three words should be a colour, and the whole phrase of three words should make some sort of sense. I cheat again and start off:
