New Humanist Bad Faith Awards 2011
Poll closes 28 November. Dorries currently way out in front.

I voted for Perry. All contenders well-deserving, but in the end having a God-fanatic in the White House is getting a bit too ordinary to be further tolerated.

I went for Perry as well on the grounds that he is probably in a position to do actual damage if he gets elected (I think the is a better chance that he will get chosen as candidate).
The others are all execrable (maybe even excretable) but not actually a danger, potential if may be, on a national scale.

How curious! Without looking at my fellow TH'ers' posts, I too voted for Perry, for much the same reasons as Dave.

I voted for Dorries since she is already in a position where she can do damage!

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Does Dorries have enough influence to be directly more dangerous than one voice/vote in hundreds?
A potential president of the US may not directly affect abortion and sex education in this country but could do a great deal of damage to other matters that might affect us seriously. Is there a chance that it might even give the anti-abortionists in this country some moral support to see such a man in power in the US?

Hmmm -- I voted Phillips for the same reason that Alan voted Dorries -- she is in a position to cause harm, and does so, with her spurious vitriol. Dorries is also deserving but I rather hope that perry does get elected -- it could be messy for a few years, but the eventual backlash could put the Christian Right back a few decades. Palin would have been better.

Dorries, because she's such an embarrassment to her gender. And she needs to be told what a patronising arse she is. Mind you that goes for Phillips too... But it'd be good to hear on "Today in parliament", and recorded for posterity in Hansard, some more sensible MP reminding her she won the award every time she tries to trample on the hard won rights many women before her have died for.

Oh, I can think of lots of contexts where I could say it, e.g.:Alan H wrote:I bet you never thought you'd say that!Tetenterre wrote:Palin would have been better.
- Q. What's brown and black and looks good on Nick Griffin?
A. A rottweiler ... but on Palin would have been better. - I'm not upset that Saddam got himself hanged, but Palin would have been better.
