Athena,

Goddess, in your infinite wisdom, you have chosen a very cute cat video. :D I loved the part where he's upside down inside the box.

Lewist: I thought cats and dogs drinking ability was awesome until I remembered they can reach their gonads...

Athena: Yes, Pie is a true sweetie

Alan C: Nightmare may be anthropomorphising but gob-smackingly cute :)

Fia, I am not sure that it is anthropomor..thingying to say that cats have nightmares. Our Suki sometimes seems to have vivid dreams with twitching and mouthing.

Humans twitch and mouth in sleep, it's not necessarily an indication of nightmares....

Willow cat deigns to live with me apart from the summer when he goes wherever it is he goes. But other animals (Boris the cat and Blake the dog) visit when their humans want to:

A selection of doggie (and other) doings . . . (I thought they were missing out a bit in this thread.)

pets

other people's cats are unlovable
the nearer they live the worse they are

distant pets of distant friends are fine
neighbours' stink

but not as bad as dogs

my favourite pet giraffe is happy
but she misses me

I did not take her with me
Chester Zoo is not her home

but she seems to like it there

I remember taking my daughter to Edinburgh Zoo when she was three. She was most interested in all the animals and asked all sorts of questions, as a three year old does. At the giraffe enclosure she stood gazing for a long time.

Then, Daddy, do you think that giraffe would like to come home with us?

Well, said I, I don't know, but where would we keep it?

She had it worked out. It could live in the field at the back.

Right, said I. But how would we get it in the car?

We talked it through but couldn't work it out. Like Jawhat's giraffe, it stayed at the zoo. However, I still remember my understanding of how impressed she was with that beautiful animal.

My dog Doris is (of course) the most beautiful dog in the world. Here is a picture of her just looking beautiful. She is much more gorgeous than any goddamn cat!

True enough Val. however I'm lucky enough to own a holiday cottage near Aberdovey, much to my dog's delight, so the drive is only 10 minutes!

Anyone come across 'Spoken Cat' by Alexander Sellers? I'll say no more.

Spoken Cat, eh? Reminds me of the Bible translated in LOLcat!

Here's Genesis.

Alan Henness

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?
