So. Nothing interesting in the world happening today...? :exit:

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Yup, good result for the Irish -- always nice to see the marsupials get stuffed, whatever the sport  ! I wonder if the Kiwis will choke again -- I hope so, in order that, yet again :laughter: , I can tell my kiwi and marsupial friends that, from the next RWC, the new name for the RWC "bronze final" is now confirmed as "The Bledisloe Cup".

Seriously, though, what do you think of the ITV commentary? I'm finding it utterly inept, the worst offender being Bob Symonds. The studio lot are better (I think Craig Doyle and Francois Pienaar are about as good as anyone else) I find myself wishing that they'd just shut up for long periods instead of detracting from the game. The should learn from ABC and the Kiwi channels, who are knowledgeable and who only speak when necessary. With the ITV lot, it's like having an opinionated, ignorant nerd with verbal diarrhoea sitting right behind you in the stands! Unfortunately, if you turn the sound down then you miss the crowd noise, which gives it atmosphere. At least for the Welsh games, I can watch S4C -- the commentary is in Welsh, but its better having a commentary that I can't understand to having one that is annoying because I can understand it.

Then there's the mispronunciations of names that adds another entirely unnecessary annoyance. We've had at least four different pronunciations of "Hape" since he was selected for tomorrow's game and I've lost count of many others. Symonds has unilaterally contrived two mispronunciations of "van der Merwe" less than 30 seconds apart -- surely even he must realise that at least one of them has to be wrong?

What was grumpy about your post, TT? Sports commentators are generally dire and tend to put me off watching sport on television. Their policy of not bothering to find out how to pronounce names (and sometimes even scoffing at them) is appalling. Good on you for telling the truth.

:puzzled: I might watch the Camanachd Cup final this afternoon, though. My problem is I don't know who to support. Kincraig folk are supposed to support Newtonmore for some reason lost in the mists of antiquity, but I know people connected with both Kingussie and Newtonmore so I will solve the problem by not going to the Bucht today.
Carpe diem. Savour every moment.

Commentaters seem to forget we can actually see whats going on. Less is more? I tend to watch on the lap top with the sound down. Give me Richie Benaud anyday.

Enjoyed the game this morning though. Good to see the mighty southern hemisphere get a kicking. Wales should have beaten S Africa too. 6.30 am stsart for England....sheesh!
